Welcome to Levittown

A small, quiet town with picturesque views

Levittown is a picturesque hamlet in Nassau County that was designed and built between 1947 and 1951. The town was developed for returning World War II soldiers and is now regarded one of the first mass-produced suburbs in the country, named after Abraham Levitt's business Levitt & Sons, Inc. With many women returning from manufacturing occupations during the war to a more conventional motherly role, Levittown ushered in a new postwar society emphasizing conformity and uniformity. Many of the original 1950s houses, as well as nine community swimming pools, remains of seven business areas, and active VFW and American Legion posts, are still standing.

With a population of 51,634, Levittown is a well-regarded and highly favored New York City suburb. Levittown, located in Nassau County, is one of New York's most popular areas. Inhabitants enjoy a minimal suburban vibe here as there are several pubs, appetizing restaurants, coffee shops, and parks in Levittown. Levittown is a liberal neighborhood with a lot of young professionals. Levittown's public schools are well regarded.
